At the University of Fribourg, Switzerland I choose Media and Communication, Journalism and Economics as academic disciplines. The general courses provided an understanding how press and media work together with politics and social groups. The focus of the department of Journalism at the University of Fribourg was on a practical education offering workshops with acknowledged Swiss journalists in the areas of print, radio and television. During the master year it was possible to select specialised lessons in the arts of film and press photography. "Unicam" - the student TV of the University of Fribourg offered great opportunties to hone the practical skills. Key elements were the production of live and online TV shows, journalistic researches, camera operating and editing.
